About Kate Elliott

Approach

Kate’s massage weaves together a unique set of skills and experience, shaped further by her love of kinesthetics and a strong intuition. She is compassionate, nurturing, and competent in creating spaciousness in the body and mind. She is committed to movement and health, deeply believing that her own experiences of being embodied, enduring injuries, being a seasoned athlete, and working through rehabilitation are important contributors to her effectiveness as a massage therapist. Kate has worked with professional sports teams and in association with physicians, osteopaths, chiropractors, physical therapists, occupational therapists and athletic trainers. Each of her sessions cater to the individual’s needs and goals. Modalities used may include, amongst others, Swedish, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, and Myofascial Release.

“I have always been a lover of anatomy and intrigued by the nervous system’s interplay between body and mind. I view massage as a potent form of caring for oneself; preventative healthcare at its best. I love what I do and welcome you to come experience its powerful effects while simultaneously taking refuge from the stressors of the world.”

Experience

Kate worked as an Occupational Therapist in a hospital setting for 7 years. She helped rehabilitate acute trauma patients with spinal cord injury, head injury, and stroke. Additionally, she completed a specialty internship in hand therapy.

While living in Portland, she was the massage therapist for the Portland Pride men’s soccer team, the Portland Power women’s basketball team, the Nike post event team, in addition to her thriving private practice—The Sports Massage Clinic. She continued this practice for 27 years after moving to Nevada City, CA. There she became an integrated and well respected part of the healthcare and healing community. In May 2024, she relocated her life and practice to Bellingham, WA. She welcomes the opportunity to serve the community here as Kate Elliott Massage.

Athletics

While at UW, she was on a full-ride athletic scholarship as a standout player for their NCAA Division 1 women’s soccer team. She was chosen to be part of the US Women's National Team program and twice named as an All-American athlete, among other accolades.

She currently continues to spend as much time as possible out in nature, be it running, cycling, hiking, backpacking, paddling or just sitting still.
